Following a revision of accommodation tax regulations in Kyoto city, all guests are required to pay an accommodation tax (implemented starting October 1, 2018). For more details: (京都市自 2018年10月1日起开始征收住宿税)
However, for a smoother check-in process, MACHIYA INNS & HOTELS now offers our guests a cashless check-in procedure. For guests staying at THE MACHIYA KAZAHAYA or THE MACHIYA KAMIUMEYA, MACHIYA INNS & HOTELS will cover the payment for the Kyoto City Accommodation Tax on behalf of the guest. No additional tax payment will be required by the guest.

30,000 yen ÷ 3 Guests = 10,000 yen/per person (per night)
Accommodation Tax = 200 yen/per person
Total Accommodation Tax (3 Guests, 1 Night) = 600 yen
Total Accommodation fee for 2 Nights = 90,000 yen (45,000 yen/per night)
45,000 yen ÷ 2 Guests = 22,500 yen/per person (per night)
Accommodation Tax: 500 yen/per person
Total Accommodation Tax (2 Guests, 2 Night) = 2,000 yen
