On the first floor, you’ll not only find a relaxing sofa, but a ‘horigotatsu’ in the Japanese-style room. A ‘horigotatsu’ is a traditional Japanese table that’s low to the ground and has a sunken floor beneath so that you can comfortably stretch out your legs. Enjoy the view of the Japanese garden from here as you wind down after a day of exploring the city. Upstairs, you’ll have 2 separate bedrooms: a bright & airy Western-style bedroom complete with 2 double-size beds and a ‘tokonoma’ alcove, and a spacious Japanese-style room with high ceilings and tatami-lined floors.

This Kyoto house features a traditional Japanese space that has ‘tatami’ flooring, vibrant ‘kyo-karakami’ paper panels, and a ‘horigotatsu’ table. The ‘horigotatsu’ table is low table with a recessed flooring beneath, that will allow you to stretch out your legs comfortably. This is the perfect place to enjoy a meal or relax after a day of exploring Kyoto city.
You’ll also have the perfect view of the ‘tsuboniwa’ garden. The garden in this traditional Japanese house features Japanese camelia and ‘momiji’ maple leaves that flourish with the seasons.
This luxurious bath is the perfect place to retreat to after a day of exploring Kyoto city. Enjoy a view of the ‘tsuboniwa’ garden while relaxing in a hot bath, or rejuvenate underneath the waterfall shower. This Kyoto house comes with our custom bath amenities: shampoo, conditioner and body soap.

Take a short walk to Nishiki Market, a 400-year old shopping street lined by more than one hundred shops and restaurants. Pick up interesting local ingredients and produce or take home some of the delicious prepared dishes that are on offer here. Head towards the east and explore the historical streets of Gion. Stop by some of the many temples and shrines that are hidden throughout the Gion area, while also doing some shopping.
This Kyoto house is approximately a 5 minute walk from both Shijo Station and Gojo Station. You’ll also only be a short walk away the nearest bus stop, making getting around Kyoto city as well as visiting famous sites like Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizudera Temple, Nijo Castle, Arashiyama, and more a breeze.
